Insert Replacements

Removing Old Sashes

Next, remove any parting beads that keep the upper sash from being able to swing open. These will be removed with a flat bar, and if the original window frame had wooden stops, they’ll be taken off.

If the old window was fitted with vinyl or aluminum jamb liners, use a flat bar to pry them free. If the window was installed in an old wooden frame, pull off the jamb liners and remove any remaining wooden stops.
